Chilhowee Intermediate's Library Media Specialist is Ms. April Helms.

Students go to the library once a week for 45 minutes as part of their ENCORE time.  They are allowed to check out 2 books and keep them for 2 weeks.  Mrs. Helms, the librarian, will send a message via Parent Square when books are overdue.  Ms. Helms tries to have the last 15 or 20 minutes for sustained silent reading.  She also encourages students to read for at least 20 minutes at home each day.  Students also have access to many online  resources such as EPIC, PebbleGo Next,  and MackinVia.  Currently we have a reading incentive going on at schools called "Get Caught Reading!"  Ask your students about it!
