About Us

Located in Board of Education District 6 and KCS Region 3, Chilhowee Intermediate School serves 3rd–5th grade students in the heart of East Knoxville. Our school has a rich history, opening its doors in 1928, and has continued to grow and adapt with renovations that improve accessibility, safety, and learning spaces.

With over 200 students, we’re a close-knit community where every child is known, supported, and celebrated. Our diverse student body and dedicated staff create a warm, inclusive environment that encourages curiosity, hard work, and kindness.

At Chilhowee Intermediate, we believe that every student matters. Our mission is to provide a positive and safe learning community where students are challenged academically, supported socially and emotionally, and cared for as individuals so they can become their best selves. We want our Eagles to be successful not only in school but also as members of their community.
